How a K2 Meter Works

K2 or K-II Meters work by detecting magnetic fields.  It can be helpful to understand how to this device works so you can use your own best judgement as to what you are really detecting.  Magnetic fields are usually sensed using a coil of wire, wrapped around some ferrite type of material.  As the magnetic field passes through the coil of wire, it creates a voltage across the large coil of wire.  The larger the magnetic field, the larger the voltage generated across the coils terminals or wire ends.  This voltage can then be used to illuminate LEDs, or recorded in some way.

There are a lot of different types of K2 meter out there, and you should make sure that you have one that is comfortable to hold onto, and activate.  They usually have a button that you can press to turn the device on.  Don’t be too alarmed if you do get some readings on these devices, it will happen.  You need to be aware of all sources of electromagnetism that occur artificially due to modern technology.  For instance any devices plugged into the wall, computers, lamps, televisions, radios, clocks, etc.  Whether these devices are powered on or not, may not matter, they can still radiate noise that can be picked up by your K2 meter.  There are also radio waves constantly passing through the air that can create false readings.

Because of all of the potential sources of false readings on a K2 meter, I don’t ever consider a K2 reading to be proof of anything.  Sometimes they tend to occur at the exact moment a question is asked, and the response just seems too coincidental to not be paranormal, but you need to ground yourself in science the best we can.  This is why I always recommend following up all high K2 readings with some sort of video evidence.  There is no substitute for video when it comes to evidence, so be diligent.
